When Harlan Swehla stopped by to tell a couple friends he gotten a good one they underestimated what he meant. Harlan shot this world class Iowa Whitetail November of 2002 with his PSE bow. Harlan reports that the buck made it only 50 yards. I think the picture speaks for itself.

geeeeessssshhhhhhhh!

I honestly dont think I would have composure to shoot that animal. Jamie do you honestly think you could put a shot at that deer without looking at that rack? Man a GIANT!!!

yes. LOL!

but i would need help down from my stand due to total loss of muscle control, mental and psychical exhaustion and various other reasons.:D

i'm sure that holding the animal at arms length adds a little to the enormity. LMAO, like it needed it.

If anyone hears what this thing scores, please post it! That is one of the most impressive bucks I have ever seen. I made the mistake of printing that picture and hanging it in front of my desk, there won't be much accomplished here today......I may as well hit the woods!

Yikes. How did it's neck support that kind of weight?

I just showed my dad this pic to compare with "old goldie". He says it's not quite as massive as goldie though. Back in the 50's this buck was a ghost buck of Tawas LK. area. He was out in an area frequented by this buck but had a borrowed gun because he let his nephew use his 45-70 so he borrowed a different gun. Goldie appeared to him that morning. He said it looked like a bleached out tree stump on it's head. The buck would put his nose to the ground and his antlers would slam into the dirt, and when he lifted his head back up they would fall back all the way on his back. This whole time he's sitting the trying to find his damned safety. When he finally realized he didn't have his gun he pulled the hammer, shot and seen hair fly.
He tracked the deer all the way to Tawas River, from there the blood trail was lost. He searched the area on both sides for 3 days and never found it. He figures he wend down in the river and probably lays out in LK Huron to this day. He was never seen again. He says the only deer that he's ever seen that compares was the "hole in the horn" buck.

I agree, let me get one like that and I promise to retire. Either way the herd is safe from me.
