I have a Trekker II that I somehow put a small tear in. It needs to be fixed before it rips further. I was wondering if you guys have a way to patch it up? I dont think an iron on patch would work because it may melt the fabric? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Duct tape. It adds character too. One piece inside one piece out.

Check out the patch kits at Meijers, might have one for you there in sporting.

Gorilla Tape - better than duct tape.

Try a waterproof wader repair compound like ProSeal or AquaSeal. I used that stuff to cover some nicks in the cable casing to my underwater camera that had started leaking (and shorting the camera). I also used it to cover the seam of an iron-on patch I had to put on a pantleg of my Arctic Armor.

That stuff has a million applications.

Hey JB, I ripped a camo rain outfit made of some suede type material on a tree step 3 or 4 years back and used a glue gun and hotmelt glue. The same stuff you would make a steelhead glue egg with. Didn't hurt the material at all, and it's still holding up fine....

I burned a nice Mr. Heater hole in my Fish Trap Yukon the 2nd time I had it out (made me sick). I have some black duct tape (it comes in many different colors). Did exactly that, one piece inside/one outside. It's been there for 3 years now and you can't tell it's a patch.

hot glue across the ends...creating an "I" then duct/monkey tape it..the glue will reinforce the end of the tear.

A pressure sensitive tape for repairs, just cut, trim to size, then peel and stick. It can be used to mend tents, packs, parkas, etc. 3 in. x 18 in. Wt. .3oz.

Just remember that if you are gonna make any kind of repair bring it inside , get it to room tempature, clean the area , apply repair and let it sit 24 in the warmth.

:yeahthat:

Do not forget to heat up the tape after applied with a hair dryer. this will help the tape adhere (almost melt it) to the fabric so much better.

I found some clear tape made for boat canvas repairs. Works great on the outside, duct tape on the inside.

Glue gun has worked great for me. You can sew it later too if you want.
