This past weekend (on a small public lake) we built a fire out on the ice. We collected a bunch of dead fall along the shore and built a nice little fire out on the ice while watching tip-ups. We were discussing how legal it was. Has anyone or heard of anyone being ticketed for this?

It's legal but a lot depends on what and size of anything left.......

Just make sure you burn everything...not cool when you're riding in LSC or any lake passing half-burnt logs.
Sometimes people just don't think about what happens to the wood when the ice melts. Not that you did any of this...just reminded me of last year on LSC.
Not sure about the legality.

IMO I think it would be OK but after I was thru......I would put a stick or something to mark the spot incase it made a hole that a smowmobile or quad might hit.
I think its great standing around a fire......and even Bologna tastes better.
