View Full Version : ficious and crappie
Anyone have much luck with ficious jigs and crappie at night? I've tried green glow and purple glow originals with very little luck although I haven't really been killing them on anything this year. The best luck has been on minnows with a tiny treble hook. This is the first year I've owned any ficious jigs, do they seem to work better in early ice when fish are more aggressive? They are a bit larger than what I am used to using. Also does the glow scare fish?
I've got crappie on the glow green bug eye and Asian lady bug and I believe glow shiner, a friend of mine LOVES glow blue shiner for crappie..I don't do any night fishing so I can't help there but change up your jigging fast, slow, short, long, constant, dead stick, a lot of things you can do, that helps most of the time, also could be your line is too heavy -Bryon

Had some luck last year night time crappie fishing using glow purple convict zitz tipped with a minnow and a lil'minnie glow yellow tiger tipped with a spike . No crappie this year yet haven't had a chance to target them at night, just some nice bluegill on original glow green bug eye and they were pretty aggressive on it. I don't think the glow scares them if anything it will attract them as it's intended to. Just keep trying if their there they should bite. I know some people have caught them on the larger sized zitz like the mag zitz.
