I've been back into archery for a couple of years and I'm ready to go to the next level. Where is the best place to go to find someone that knows what they are doing to make sure I've got all of my equipment right plus I'm thinking about trying a peep sight. It seems like a lot of hunting shows on tv the guys are using peep sights so I'm wondering if I'm missing the boat with that. Is this a good idea or not??

Hicks, in Clio, Ed's Archery on Vienna rd. I'm sure there are a lot more.
As far as a peep, I've never used one, I can shoot good without one. I worry about not being able to see as well through one, in a hunting situation. I know for 3-D shooting most everyone uses one. All you can do is try a peep and see if it works for you.

Spot Shooter Archery isn't too far from you. Good group of guys there. HIcks is decent too. I have not had good experiences in the past with Eds...particularily with Steve.

I'm gonna assume this was pointed at me. Steve is knowlgeable, no doubt. My experiences, thru Steve, is what chased me away. If I knew I could catch Gordy when I went in...:coolgleam

Hicks has went downhill since they moved imo. Try Bearfoot archery in Gaines (Swartz Creek Area).

I've known Jim at Spot Shooter Archery for close to 20 years. He's a great guy and he and his people will take good care of you.

One on One Archery in Clio. Mark is his name, and he runs the business out of his house. He knows his stuff, and he is the only person that will work on your bow. My Dad and I go there every fall and he always remember us and exactly what we had done to our bow the previous fall.

If you want it done right the first time go to Browns. I now live in St. Clair and I still drive to Browns.

For hunting I would not mess with a peep sight. I have tried different peeps including the hindsight and I just come back to using a kisser button and thats it. Plus if you have not been using a peep you will have trouble switching and it will feel strange to have it on there. i will throw a vote in for Williams Gun sight in davison. They are known for their guns but they have a new archery guy in there and he knows his stuff pretty good.

Thanks for all the input. And I think I'll steer clear of the peep sight.
