Report: Crappie on Reeds Lk

Oh man was it cold last night! Big buddy heater worked awesome in the shanty. Wanted to scout, but to darn cold. Fished 6.30 till 10pm and only one fish in 38 fow on white glow in the dark with wax worm. Guys left around 7-8pm had a good mess of crappies on waxies. My gut was telling me I should have moved in towards shore more. 38fow too deep? I dont know. At -15 below, a warm heater and food and bev can you blame me?

Its hard to move on nights when its really cold isn't it. Sometimes being warm trumps catching a lot of fish.

caught my crappie in 17 feet of water right off bottom the other night.

we were in 28fow originally then moved to 38fow, probably should have stayed put. I dont know how shallow crappies go out of the warmer deeper water at night to find minnows? next time I'll try shallower.
