I have no idea. He told me the guy that gave him permission said it was private. Just going by what he said. I am going to check into it in a minute.

I just looked it up on the DNR site and the lake map shows a public fishing site. Unless the map is really old and the land was sold it shows as public. It appears by the map to be a resevoir.

its public... thuogh there may be areas you can't really get to by walking/sled (its kind of an odd shaped lake and springs/depth might make some parts unreachable).

if you go out of the public launch at woodland you don't have to go far to hit some holes......a ton of action....a ton of small fish....

It's public and has some excellent bass fishing. Straight out from the
DNR launch is a 35ft deep hole. Thats where the walley jiggers are in the
summer. I have caught some pike casting for bass so a tip-up might be
a good choice.

The drop offs by the points should be good for gills. I have seen some
decent ones there in the summer.

Urban legend is they planted some tiger mjuskies in there years ago. I have not heard of anyone catching any recently though.

If there are walleye jiggers in the summer does anyone catch any in the winter? If they did plant tiger musky there is a good chance they aren't alive. I don't think they can reproduce. Or they could be lurking in there somewhere.

The north end of the lake past the island and bridge might make it appear to be private, especially if a homeowner has a large boat that won't fit underneath. They would never know about the larger part of the lake.

I lived about a half mile from the lake about 15 yeas ago. I heard that there were tigers in there also. Used to fish behind Brighton Cove Apts, and caught some slob gills. Lots of little areas around there that have good fishing.

No tigers. The DNR stopped planting them statewide back in the early 90's. They can appear in nature naturally but there are no pure strains of muskys in the lake to breed with the pike.

I think they stopped stocking the tigers in woodland in '91. I saw a guy w' a 4 footer in '95. If there's any left they'd be monsters by now. LOL!

There is some killer crapi fishing off of that bridge in the spring when they spawn. Go at night with a lantern after the first warm/heavy rain in may.
