Was hoping to get a recent conditions report on any of these lakes since the big chill and snow. Snow amount, travelling, any slush, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Dang John ... you are SUPPOSED to be the go to man for that info!! You must be slipping or something.
Hope things are going well. Tried one of your Moonshine namesakes last week .... didn't do squat with it.

I don't think he was looking for an ice condition report as much as conditions for driving a quad out on the ice. We got dumped on (snow) the last 10 hours up here in Harbor Springs, and JJ Mac said they got over a foot in the past two days in his area. With the new snow, has anyone been out, and if so, what type of vehicle are you recommending should be brought out to move around? Tight Lines

I have not been on the ice since Friday. At that time, drove my truck around to see if there were any deep spots. All was good, and lots of ATV's running around.
8:30 PM tonight. My fishing partner put his shanty out and stayed to fish until dark. His report was that Burt got about 8 inches of snow, extreme winds, and a lot of drifting. He said that as he was coming off the ice at Roberts rd, there was places that the snow had drifted to about 18 inches deep in spots.
Don't know if ATV's handle 18 inch drifts, but it looks like it may be snow machines and four wheel drive trucks.
I will be on the ice on Sunday, Will post when I get back in. Will be putting my new shack out on the lake on Monday. I was planning on taking the truck and trailer to my spot. May have to rethink that idea.
