I am 18 years old and attend Adrian College. I would like to get some sort of job in the spring/summer involving the DNR. If anyone has any job openings or advice on where to find a job in Jackson or Lenawee County, please let me know. I'm a very dedicated, hard worker and am determined to serving the wildlife that I love to hunt, fish, and trap in by making it safe and fun. Thanks!!

My daughter is a senior at Adrian. Cyndi Ferguson.
If you don't know her, she is the female lead in the up coming play.

Yeah, figured it would be a long shot. Bit of a differance in year classes.
Ok then maybe you know here boyfriend. Justin Kulman, he's on the track team.
A few more months and no more trips to Adrian and they won't be getting anymore of my money.
At least this will keep you bumped up so more people see it. Too bad your not in my area, I'll be hiring someone to help around here in the spring.

My name is Wayne Heinzman. I'm a fisheries assistant with the Fisheries Division working out of the Seney Field Office in the Eastern Lake Superior Management Unit. Most of the divisions within the DNR hire some amount of State Worker 4's to their staffs over the summer and they tend to look for college students to fill these openings. The Parks and Recreation Division is by far the largest of the employers of STW-4 within the DNR. I worked as a STW-4 at the Bay City State Recreation Area for 4 seasons and had just began my 5th season before I got this seasonal classified position with the Fisheries Division. I'm not sure which area of the DNR you are looking to get into, but you might want to make some calls around to the DNR Field Offices or State Park and Recreation Areas in your area to see if they are looking for state workers. I would do this as soon as possible as some of the parks look to start STW-4s part time before the semester is complete. The STW-4 positions are seldom posted to the state jobs webpage, so many people do not know these positions exist. They can get you some great experience and help you in landing a position after graduation with the DNR. I do not even have a bachelor's degree complete yet, and am a criminal justice major to boot working with the Fisheries Division. I know without a doubt that some of my work experience as a STW-4 helped me land the position I have currently. I would like to complete my degree sometime in the near future and get a position as either a CO or Park Ranger with the Department. Here is a link to the webpage that has some information about employment opportunities and has the application you will have to fill out and send in if you seek a position with the DNR. http://mi.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10366_11866---,00.html You may also want to check out the Michigan Civilian Conservation Corp area too--they offer a scholarship on top of making an hourly wage. Good Luck.
