Alright. I'm trying to decide where to go this weekend. Some guys I know are headed to Frenchman's Lake for pike Saturday morning.

Frenchman's Lake has no size limit on Pike, but I would rather go to Little Brevort some time the action can be some what good and you can try for gills why your waiting for a flag.

Thanks for the info, tjays.
I called Dan's Cabins on Munuscong and the guy there said that the perch bite is picking up and that there is 1.5 to 2 feet of ice on the bay. I just called Ed's Bayview Store on Baie de Wasai and the lady there said that nobody has been out there yet. Still haven't decided where I'm going.

Decided to go to Munuscong Bay in the morning with a couple other students. Has anyone been out there recently? Are there any pike there? What do they use for walleye? Thanks!

Get there before daylight, the best bite is just before daylight. Half dead minnow's are working better then live ones some guys just use the head. There are pike there but I havent heard of any big wons being caught. Good luck I am hoping to get out there sometime this weekend.

Thanks again for the advice, tjays.
The walleye are biting good on Munuscong Bay. Got some today including a seven pound hog weighed at Dan's (should've entered the tournament they were having). Some bigger perch in the mix, too. Fished from 9:30 to noon. Use minnows (you can get them at Dan's Cabins, open 6 to 6). I'll be back there tomorrow (before light this time) with a Jet Sled at my back.
Best of luck,
Kyle

Where exactly is Dan's at? I've never been down to Munuscong, and I'm planning on making a day trip tuesday because I don't have class. I want to drive my car out there as well, is there a close spot I can get on?

If you do a Google search for "Dan's Cabins Resort" I think it will come up. If you are in the Soo, just take M 129 south to Pickford. Turn left onto Main Street (also called Gogomain Road, but the sign says Main Street). Keep going for 6.5 miles to South Bay Road on the left. That's basically Dan's driveway. There is a sign at the corner for Dan's. You can get on the ice at Dan's. Just follow the line of Christmas trees out and go from there. We went left to the main group of shacks. Almost everybody has a permanent shack, so finding holes to fish in can be difficult (we don't have a power auger). The ice is over a foot thick where we were and we were in about 4 feet of water. The water is very dirty with almost no visibility. And they just plowed the path along the tree line. Hope this helps. My next post will be todays results, or lack thereof :(.

Much slower today than yesterday. Had tip-up and rod in the water by 7:45 this morning. Caught a keeper on the tip-up in the first hour. Got a small one later on the rod. That was it besides a couple misses by the guys I was with. Left at 10:30. Most of the guys in the permanent shanties went in before us. Oh well, I have another fish for dinner :).

i was there today on the small bay on the northwest end, caught a couple undersize perch then they disappeared. smallish pike moved in, caught 3 on 4 flags, another on a perch jig in the shanty, and got our jigs robbed half a dozen times. There were so many we'd see em sitting by our holes sometimes. it was odd

Went out to Barimley Bay caught some nice Perch and a walleye. Fishing was pretty good but not great. Caught everything on jigs with minnow heads. Don't plan on fishing it in a week or so the oxygen levels will be so low there will be nothing in the bay.
