Does anyone know how far out Lake Michigan is frozen?

Not even to the end of the pierheads at Holland, Grand Haven, & Muskegon judging by the webcams pointed at these piers.
I was thinking about pier fishing this weekend if the water remains open like today.

Not very, this is back from Jan 5th, the last say it was not cloudy. Notice the greenish nutrients along the shoreline, sure is murky near shore. Dial up users beware!

Tim,
What site was that image from? The webcam in Holland shows a lot of ice.

This is actually a pretty neat site and perspective of the Great Lakes from a satellite view!
Actually looks like there is a pretty clear picture from the 16th (Friday - yesterday).... doesn't look like we'll be fishing the Gary Light or Burns Ditch anytime soon!! :(

Nice picture. Looks like Crystal Lake (Benzie) finally froze but not Traverse Bay.

Traverse Bay is for sure NOT FROZEN. In fact there was barely any ice on it at all. At least there wasn't on Thursday when I drove by the Bay.

I thought Wood TV said there was ice 10 miles out. It was also stated, because of this, we have lost any increased temps on the lakeshore form Lake Michigan!?!?!

Flew over to Illinois in a plane this morning and was at least 10 minutes over ice, on the Michigan side, just did not look very solid where it was. Lots of open spaces between the ice. Just don't tell Castmaster, he would try to get a boat in there.

Mostly gone now, alot of it went north over the warm week we had.

Looks like Crystal Lake near Frankfort also melted, I am planning to be there this weekend and was thinking of going out for some hard water fishing...maybe not.
