Where would I get rid of some old ammo. Do gun ranges except them? I could bury it but I afraid some kid might find it some day.
I would just shoot it, but some of it is very corroded.
Thanks

Its probably only around 10 yrs old. I had plan on keeping
the boxes and getting rid of the bulletts.
Maybe I should just keep it all.

well,
how about pulling the bullets and just buring the powder in the ground, i bet it would make a good fertiziler. as far as the primers i'd soak them in water or wd-40 or something and then toss the brass.
i have some 308 that the brass was corroded from being on a leather belt loops for 15 years, wiped them off and they shot fine.

Can't you just use it for target shooting. Ten years old is not that old for that. I would not use for hunting but I also would not just destroy it. Heck we used stuff during Desert Storm that had been in storage since Nam. It should be fine for target and fun shooting.

10 years old is nothing. I shoot WWII Surplus ammo all the time and don't have any problems. just check the cases for split necks right by the bullets, and you should be fine:)

Its not so much the age. It is that it was not properly stored.
I received this ammo from other people. Left on the door step kinda thing. The stuff look like it was left outside for ten years. Very corroded.
I'm sure it shoot okay, but I'm not putting a rotted old shell down one of my guns. Maybe I'm being to pickey. I just feel it is like loading my receiver up with dirt and shakeing it up.

I have ammo for an antique Winchester model 1894 38-55 that was stored in a garage since maybe the 30's and it still fired. Way to valuable to shoot, but I wanted to see if it would shoot.

I'll take it off your hands if ya want. I'd shoot the ones that don't look too bad and pull the bullet an burn the powder of the real nasty ones.
Though if ya wanna keep them Thats fine:)

I bet they will still be just fine to shoot.
Heck I'm hunting with rounds for my 350 that are at least that old.

If you don't want to shoot this good stuff, take it to your local
Gun and Knife shows and sell it, they will buy just about anything that has to do with shooting ;)
