Allright guys, my elk hunt is coming up fast. Anyone that has any tips or information about anything, or any who has been deer hunting around the atlanta or onoway area have you seen any elk? Any info would be great. Thanks

Slammer........i have sent you two messages but you didn't answer back........i am a guide and was up there huning and scouting the last 7 days.....what area did you draw ...bull or cow and who did you hire........i will be at the atlanta motel from the 8th thru the end of the season if i can be of any assistance....i will be at the eagles club on monday it is important that you attend that.......the best advice i can give you is don't drive all over looking for elk because there are all ways to many people up there at that time and they scare the elk and can make them hard to find .......if you want any help while i'm up there just ask if i'm not busy i would be glad to help.....the herd is way down so they can be hard to find regardless what other people on this site want to say......Look for Carl C. at the eagles and we can chat then........bye

I dont know what area it is. I just have had to put up with the elk for the last couple years. The neighbor made a cutting and it has drawn the elk right into the new cutting. They stay on the private land around there. I have been seeing the bulls for a few years. The DNR say's they are "majestic bulls". Thats not what we call them. I hope someone shoots them. One has 7x7 or 8x8. The smaller one is a really nice 6x6. Several cows around with them.

Just got the report for the first day. Passed up alot of small bulls. Had a 300+ class 6x6 bull 200 yards away, couldn't get a good shot. Another guide that works for chris's guide saw a big 7x7. He called my house and i wasn't here so i am getting all this from my uncle. He'll be back out tomarrow.

Second day NOT so HOT. Chris said he never saw a elk. 3 guys got cows today so there guides will be driving around helping chris tomarrrow. He said the ones from yesterday just moved out of the area. Said there hunting in area X because they couldn't find any elk in area E. He hopes he'll have one by Sat. so he can muzzleload this weekend:p

Slammer, was the hunt easier or harder than you thought?? It was MUCH harder to me. Glad it is over although it was a wonderful experience and one of a lifetime.
