Went Sunday and was out for about 2 hours. Caught about 8 perch, biggest was about 7.5"......after I stepped on him a couple of times to stretch him out:lol::lol:. They were biting pretty good, even for dinks.

Water was clear down to the 6' foot I was in. Was clear closer in also. Ice out past the pier was 3-4" so I am sure this week it will only get better.

That particular spot has been extremely wierd the last 2 yrs. Just make sure you check with a spud as you walk. Couldn't even get near it last year. GPS is warmed up. :evil:

Hopefully the ice will set up with the cold snap they are predicting. Last weekend (Saturday), the old ice was pretty solid but along the jam I hit spots that I could draw water with two solid hits of the spud (3.5 inches). I didn't even try going past the jam where there was open water last week.
Saturday, all that was out by Brandenburg were all the 3 inch perch anyone would care to catch. I tried getting out in front of Goulette Point, but it wasn't safe. Don't even think of running sleds or 3-wheelers in the area for awhile!
Anyway, I put on a good 2-3 miles including some canals, and had my worst day of the year .... 8 Crappie, 3 Gills, and 1 eight inch perch.
Maybe I will have to get with Mr. Joeker and trade hot spot information? :D

Im gonna hold off and let this cold snap come through and tighten things up, this saturday ill be there with the ol lady bright n early for sure. just look for the 5600 with a big black square on each side...... and im usually on channel 7....... i bet tha ol man will be lurkin around the area too.......swiss cheezin the ice. . . . . with an egg in his pocket.:16suspect:evilsmile:evil::evil::evil:
