what to do while waiting in a blind

LMAO @ SFK.......On a different note from SFK. I will think back at all the funny thing's that have happened to me in the Deer Wood's, I try to steer away from the bad thing's. Watch the bird's and see how close they will come to me. Had one land on my arrow one year in Mid-December, that was pretty cool. I mostly take a book (one of the GOOD) with me to "READ" while sitting. Help's pass the time a little faster while there is nothing going on.

hey chris, sometimes when im pulling an all day sit i might bring out the pocket "poker", ( no pun intended clay, lol) or black-jack. if ya like gambling.

once and a while ill bring out a pad of paper and pencil and mix up my training/ lifting schedules, hell you can even do groceries list or make up some new short term goal for yourself.

i wish that when i attempted to duplicate nature on paper ( draw) it would turn out like i see it but it never does. so art work for me is out but it might work for you.

ive watch a few games over the year or should i say had tv but just listened.ahh the hand held poker game i tired but did work well in the cold.radio is genrally what i use to kill time. thats funny sfk u meation the rosey palm thing about 6yrs ago my cousin went to hunt 1 of our blinds on state ground and loan behold he caught a guy with gun in hand needless to say the blind hasne been used since

With a fresh set of batteries, my Palm (NO, not Rosy!) Pilot has a half dozen games plus a Bible reader installed. Just turn off the click noises and you can play Euchre, Solitaire, Sub Hunt, Word Find, Crossword Puzzle, etc.

I've taken some of the Pocket Poker or Blackjack games before. My son takes his Game Boy Advance with an earphone.

Depends on what I am seeing. If it is pretty slow, I concentrate on looking at the back of my eyelids if you know what I mean. Other wise, my mom once told me when she sat in the blind with my dad, that "it was amazing what you could do in a deer blind!" ;) Try to convince your wife of that! Actually, this year, I drew up plans and a materials list for a backyard shed. Seemed to pass the time real fast.

I tend to get a lot of shuteye. I'm not normally that big of napper the rest of the year. Must be the cold weather, or I'm making up for the rest of the year. The weird thing is that I'm in sort of a "twilight sleep", where I will usually become fully alert at the instant a suspicious noise happens.

Amongst other daydreams....I will spend some time visualizing a deer approaching from different angles, different directions, when I would draw, when to shoot etc. when the time comes I will hopefully be prepared.

Try not to think at all.
This year I found myself laughing at quite a few things.
Like a couple of squrrels that keept fighting over a tree branch.
They looked like a cartoon.

we always called it "having a date with Miss. Michigan" (hence the Lower Peninsula looks like a hand.....clarification for those who have already lost their minds due to the past 2 months of hunting)

but i usually sleep during gun seasaon and...
sit alert during bow (due to stand hight)
