Just when I was confident in that the Captain was going to be my new bow, My friend gets back from the ATA show and tells me about the new one BowTech unveiled at the show. It's called the "AirRaid" and it sounds like its exactly what I'm looking for. Regular solid limb bow, but it's a laminate limb! I know that will make a lot of people happy. Rotating mod. He couldn't remember the exact ata but thought it was around 33". 7 1/4" brace height and 340fps! With all that being said, he said that the bow shot amazing. I can't wait to shoot one for myself, but it may be awhile...he said there was only a coulpe in existance as of the show. I checked BowTech's website and it's not on there but he said they have updated their '09 catalogs and it's in there.

Is that a center pivot style bow? Binary cams?

There is a thread about it with a pic over on eaf, it is binary but not center pivot, along the lines of the 82nd, but with UGLY gold colored cams.

I was at the ATA show and shot the Air Raid, I also interviewed the regional rep for the midwest (Pat Dinan) and he said that the bow was designed for big game such as african safari hunting. It only comes in the Advantage Timber camo. The best way I can describe the bow was very solid. I currently shoot the Guardian and I have shot the General and Equalizer both. But this bow is definitely different. It packs one heck of a punch. It comes in limb packages of 65, 75, and 85! When I shot it, it never kicked, it was lets say, smoothly balanced. It also had a very unique cable system to get rid of all the previous cam lean issues bowtech had to deal with. It should prove to be a great seller when it hits the shelves. I will be reporting on it here in the next week or so over at my website. www.michiganhuntingtoday.com/hooksandbullets/

I noticed that about the
camo...What's up with that??? Isn't that pattern like 6-8 years old?
Is that accurate about the gold cams?
I also noticed it has a string supressor more like the SWAT than the carbon one that comes on the new center pivots and 82nd. I don't mind that so much because that one is removable unlike the carbon rod as far as I can tell. I'd rather put my StringTamer on it...

Yeah, the cams are gold just like in the photo! I don't care for the camo pattern. Last year they offered most of their bows in a variety of camo patterns. As for the sts I don't recall if it was removable or not. I would think it is, after I looked at my video again it looks like it is removable.
Actually you can view the video and photos over at the Hooks and Bullets website, I have the article finished. http://michiganhuntingtoday.com/hooksandbullets/index.php/2009/01/13/bowtech-air-raid-debuted-at-the-2009-ata-show/#more-763

Thanks...I didn't think they looked gold in the catalog just like the first pic on your site. I can see it on the second pic though...thats not that bad. I've got an old Martain Lynx thet I use for bow fishing that has bright gold cams...it's pretty bad:lol:
As far as the you tube video...the guy says that it's a good choice for someone looking for a big game/safari bow because of the 85# option, not that it was designed FOR that.
