Well, went out againt this evening, chasing the fish around the canals. Hit 2 keepers within 5 minutes of sitting down!! I thought to myself, this is going to be the day!!
I was by myself in my new Shappell shanty, had the heater going and was the only one on the canal. It was too good to be true!!
Well, if that statment was ever true, this evening it was!! :mad:
As fast as the bite turned on, it was off. Then the dinks moved in. I was fishing with minnows and spikes and was fairing well on the slabs of gills and sunnies so all was not lost. Vis. was about 3.5 -4 feet but stil cloudy
I did however lose an absolute PIG at the hole on a minnow hooked through the spine! This perch was MASTER ANGLER material fella's! I pulled him out of the hole and just as I was going to grab him to remove the hook from his mouth he shook like crazy and off he went. He bounced next to the hole and before I could grab him, he slipped in! I was torqued! :rant:
Oh well. Ended up with two keepers and a dozen or so of Gills and Sunnies. I would like to put out an all points bulletin on the missing jumbo perch!! WHERE THE BLEEP ARE THEY!! :confused:
I won't be able to get back out until next weekend and it looks as if we are going to get some bone chilling weather!! :) I will venture out onto the lake next week in hopes of ripping the lips on a few JUMBO"S!!
