New Baltimore Water tower

Has anybody been out by the water tower in new Baltimore yet? Just wondering the ice condition there..I was thinking about going out for a few hours in the morning.

I talked to a guy who was out there 2 days ago. Said the ice is very hit and miss. Some spots its 9" some 1 1/2"! Said he got spooked a couple times! If you go ouit be careful! Id stick to the bay just to the north if you can get out there!

My buddy was thre today with his two kids. They caught 30 fish (1-8" and 29-dinks). He too said the ice was scary. He was on 8" walking out using a spud bar in front of him when a hit with the bar sent the bar through the ice. He ended up walking onto ice about 2" thick. They backed off and fished closer in on the 8" ice.

:help:talked to M & M bait he said yesterday they were getting them at the tower but nothing today we went to brandenburg seen lots of fish but all dinks good luck and be safe:fish:

Thanks for the info! I kind of figured it would be screwy... I'll just wait until the up-coming big freeze..
