Planning on getting out with the kid this Sunday. Anyone recommend a good parking spot to drag a shanty from. I've only bucket fished departing from a friend of a friend's driveway.

there is selfridge air national guard dnr access site at 21 and jefferson, i think you have to pay 5 bucks. There is a marina near the salt river, can't remember the name though, i think ice is sketchy there sometimes. And Brandenburg park in chesterfield, don't go out too far there right now though I don't think the ice is good past the pier but i'm not sure. Don't really know the places in fair haven or the location of the raft. I left out cotton rd. because i'm pretty positive you won't find parking there tomorrow but that's on cotton rd and jefferson.

Thx Snapper,
I'm going Sunday. We usually fish down by Crocker up to SANG but have had good luck on the north side near Palm road where I have never been when I'm not with my friend who has parking priveleges.

Is that a public launch just west of Palms on Dixie?

It is a DNR launch site. If your thinking of that end of Anchor Bay, there is also the Raft, a little further East. There is usually a $3.00 charge to park.

I was at B-burg yesterday and went past the ice pile-up past the pier. The ice was 4" but the visibility was less than 12". Fishing sucked - the perch I caught were so small I wouldn't even call them dinks - more like bait!

Man if you've ever had any luck there before you might still do good. Out of any of the public access points for LSC, B-burg is the one place I've NEVER done any good at. The only reason I went yesterday was because as I was going down the access road to SANG a big FED-EX truck snapped some overhead wires and I wasn't willing to drive over them.

Ive had some of my best days out there. Just need to be patient with the ice there with it being on the point. In another month youll be able to get to where you need to be. Just have to fish it at the right time.
