Honestly I don't know if I would be heading out to the lake for a couple more weeks. The only perch being caught are dinks. When the ice gets thicker and farther out you can get some bigger fish.

You can find many places to park up and down lake shore drive. Gino's Surf is among many.37400 Jefferson Ave, Harrison Township, MI 48045

:coolgleam Drive east to the end of M-59, and you'll end up at the Selfridge DNR launch. Go down the ramp, and when you hit the lake, look for some shanties and set up nearby. To the left (north) about a mile, is the Cotton Rd. area, and to the right (south) about the same distance, is "the barracks" People fish that entire two mile or so stretch. Depths generally range from 3-7 feet. Good luck. :fish:

you can fish in the canal of the boat launch just where it turns left to go out into the lake. plenty of fish at dusk if its quiet.
The walk can be as close as 100 yards or 2 miles.I have a favorite spot about 2/3 mile down the shore line. 5 fow. if the water is clear, the fish will be there..
also slightly to the left and out 1/2 mile is good.
