When I was out there I heard stories of guys shooting horses & beef cows thinking they were elk. Brilliant they are!!

His name is Rusty Saunders and he's from Fort Edward, NY. (His name and address are on the tag. How freakin' embarassing is that???) Evidently he's never been out of the city. :dizzy:

I went to Montana this year and shot a nice cow elk. The outfitter I was with had a guy last year shoot a moose as he thought it was a bull elk. :yikes: I can understand about getting excited about elk hunting but come on.

we get quite a crowd from Seattle here during general elk season.....one always manages to shoot someones livestock.

Don't think for a minute it is just the non residents that do this. Two years ago, my friends outside of Butte, MT had one of their lama's shot by a local who thought it was an elk!
