Does anyone use the plastic ones? I thought about buying some but was not sure about it. Do you rig them the same as live waxies?

I always keep a jar of Berkley Gulp red spikes in my box, because sometime I can't get real red spikes.
Works just fine. They work great on perch and last a long time.

I am not a fan of the gulp bait. You just can't beat live bait. I paid $5 for a jar of maggots, and havnt caught much on it. Soon as you throw on a live waxie, there the fish are. They are good though as a backup incase of a bait famine!
Good luck,
Bob

Was out at 7am this morning and could only get a bite on gulp maggots, gills would not touch a waxie. As always it just depends on the day.

I have seen Gulp catch fish when waxies and spikes wouldn't and vice versa. I always carry some Gulp grubs, winter or summer.

today they only hit the Chartreuse maggots for some reason...so always have a selection plus live bait when I go....
