I know this probaly been asked before during warm water fishing, but my question is if I access a lake on public land and fish in marinas not touching docks or anything just fishing the main channel and next to the pilings. Am I legal or tresspassing? Can I be made to leave the marina? I live in the Monroe area and im looking for some places near by to hit for an hour or so(if I have more time I usually go to hillsdale or irish hills area). There are some marinas(some open and some closed for the season) that I would like to check out, so I thought I would get some advise first. I know in the summer some owners dont want you to fish there docks from a boat even though your not touching them and I think legally i'm in the right as long as I dont touch there property, is it the same for ice fishing.

Thanks for any reply and if I head out i'll post my results.

If they're connected to public waters and you don't walk on any high-water line private property, then yes you can fish there.
