I bought a Lowrance x67c Ice Machine a few weeks ago and absolutely love it!
Only problem Ive had is that the depth display in the center during ice mode will give me a very wrong reading (too shallow). Like drastically different than the flasher shows. When it happens it is usually after the transducer has been in the water for quite some time. The flasher will continue to show the water column as it should, but the depth reading in the center will be off.
For instance, the flasher will show 22ft, but the center display will say 9 ft.
Any idea why its doing this, or how I can adjust my settings to fix it?
Thanks!

What are you marking at 9 ft? Is it weeds, or your jig? What does it show in graph mode?

Lowrance is notorious for crap like that. I know people love them, but I have had nothing but bad expereinces with Lowrance.
Sorry for the rant and if I pissed off anyone, but that is my experience and opinion.
Anyway.....
You might have dropped your transducer or damaged it in the car or something. I would suggest going to a local sport shop and see if they will let you try it out or if you have a friend or if someone on here is close and nice enough that you try their transducer on your unit.
Just a thought......good luck.

Not really sure if theres anything there at all. Ive never really looked to see what it was marking specifically. It would just be marking say 22ft for quite some time, then all the sudden it would 9 ft. while the flasher still showed 22 ft. I'll have to switch over to graph mode to check it out. I havent done that.
Have you experienced anything like this?

couldn't tell ya.. make sure you transducer is clear of the bottom of the ice, maybe some disturbance if its not.
2nd question... why would you use the flasher mode on an x67? Way more info on graph mode.

I wonder if your transducer is leaking.

Mine did that and it was just ice shavings froze to the bottom. The only thing is... it was bouncing around to all diff depths, so it could be a diff issue. Also it was on the graph screen havent had a use for the flasher yet.:D

FIRST.
Have you gone into your menu and gone into "Sonar Features"
And shifted the machine into "chart manual mode"??
(YES before you go into "Ice Machine Mode" and/or flasher mode)
You may be getting a refraction of the "previous" echoes bouncing off the ice & back down...
Bolo's right - if your voltage is around 10V or less - it's probably going to get all twitchy...
I know Dan's X67c was working good last SAT - I never pulled my LMS332 out of the bucket.
:evilsmile
You'll be in full manual (SENS & DEPTH RANGES , ETC)
Try some 0' dat & report back.

No. I had not done that. I just did it, will try it out tomorrow. I noticed a surface clarity option there too. What does that do? I have it set to "off" right now.

I have experienced the same thing your talking about,..... but I only have had this problem on 1 particular lake, Is it a super soft thick muck bottom lake? Is there other sonar in the area?
But like mentioned earlier.....go split screen 4x mode, and you will never use the flasher again....TRUST ME!:D

Turn it on, that blocks all the junk you see on the top of your screen. Did yours come with a DVD? Mine did a few years ago and it explains all the settings you and options you have the with the unit.
