Flockshot and I hit the ciscoe water for the first time this year and did real well. We took 15 nice ciscoe, ranging from 13-15 inches. Felt real good to feel the tug on the schooley and trip over the bucket a time or two this morning. They're already cleaned and in my homemade brine, and will be smokin' on Tuesday! MMM MMM.

Nice go'in guy's! I gotta get over and do some fishing around the old neighborhood! I see that even after 35+ years (*when I first went ;)) the rod of choice for jiggin ciscos is still the old Schooley! :)
 I'm booked for the next several weekends, hopefully soon though! ;)

Great catch! Can you at least tell us if the lake is semi-local?

I'd consider it quasi-local.
Many lakes in SE Mich. have em. Just gotta be DEEP.

What were your methods to catch them? I fished a lake on Friday that has quite a few of them in it. We didn't target them but may in the future. What lures/bait did you use? Depth? They look very tasty!!

I get a ton of questions on tips and tactics on ciscoe jigging. I'll throw together a little tutorial in the near future with things i've learned and post it. I tried to write a guest column for woods n water but they wanted nothing to do with it. Piss on them:D.
