Had the pleasure of fishing with sfw1960 today on Portage Lake in Onekema. Got a late start and didn't hit the ice till around noonish. Ice was from 8 to 10 inches.........quads and sleds running everywhere. As we were heading out everyone we met was saying how bad the fishing was today. Well with both Robert and myself being contrarians we proceeded. Almost devoid of snow on the ice so we hooked up my trailer to the quad and loaded it down for the trip on the ice. We set up in 50 fow about 3/4 mile from the launch. 10 to 12 three to four in perch between us so we decided to move. Moved to 40 fow and again a few small perch. We then moved to 30 fow on the nose. Started fishing and Mr Wackmaster Robert proceeded to catch more 3 inch perch and so desperate for fish he started catching chubs....:dizzy:  Well about 4PM we decided to start walleye fishing. At around 4:15 something big lit up the X67 and at the time I was using a brass do-jigger with a blue on it. Fish didn't want that bait and just a few seconds later I was just getting ready to yell at Robert that a big fish was near when he screams "fish on" setting the hook with his jigging rap into a nice fat 19 inch walleye.....it was nip and tuck but Mr. Wackmaster iced the fatty...... Well not being a slouch I then grabbed my other rod rigged up with a jigging rap w/minnow head and dropped it into the depths.......and not 15 minutes later I was yelling fish on and up came a nice fat 21 incher.......... We fished till almost dark and packed up and proceeded to make the 2 mile trip back across the lake to the launch. Nice day, kind of windy at times but overall not too bad for 2 slouches and another "No Lag" day with the X67 ice machine......

First pix is Mr. Wackmaster putting a hurtin on 4 inch perch....

Thanks guys. Actually we went up with the intentions of getting a good mess of perch but when the fish gods give you lemons you just have to make lemonade......thus we switched to eye fishing which did pay off. Matter of fact I just cleaned those two beauties and they're all vacuum sealed and nestled in the freezer........both were males......nice and chunky..

Now for those Crystal lake smelt................if it ever decides to make some ice........

uNcLE m!LtY said he was going to check it out with George , so in the next few weeks - I'm hoping to be able to fit it in ($$$)....
I know Dan has been G-G-G-GLITCHIN' IN TH' KITCHEN to go!

I didn't bring my GPS as I was told to "pack light" and I didn't even bust out my LMS the whole day , instead I let Dan have his day in the sun with his ultra cool - ultra compact - super split screen COLOR TFT LCD the X67c ...
:evilsmile
Anyways - I keep trying to talk Dan into getting one (A Lowrance H2O GPS would look GOOD on the GriZ handle bars!) , and this day would have been perfect use for it- I told Dan I didn't want to be riding around in the dark looking for the launch 2 miles away , with the wind , snow & windchill starting to pick up a bit.

So we bailed with minutes to spare , and it was gettin' chilly fast!
(Besides , once the school of bloater chubs moved off , the DraC's left with......)
