I know this subject may have been covered a lot but I missed the threads.
What have you folks been using and what is your experiences. I don't want to spend a lot.
Thanks

My wife got me the smaller Cabela's one for Christmas. It works fine as long as the water is fairly clear. Takes a little getting used to at first but it works about as well as expected. I am using it for fun and not for catching fish, the vexilar or other sonars are better for that. I also wanted it so when I fish with others they can be "entertained" and I don't have to feel guilty about letting them use my vex.

I got the panning camera from Cabela's and used it for the first time yesterday. I was really impressed with the clarity and the distance that we could see. The panning feature is awesome. I was able to follow a couple of different eyes as they swam away after either stealing my partners minnow or totaly snubbing my offering!

Bought a Marcum last year. First time I used it on the ice a pike came by within five minutes and stared me down. He was followed by a bass who did likewise.
Fun toy to have. I also use it on the end of the dock during summer when tossing bread to the bluegills.
Probably not going to be as helpful as sonar but its a great way to watch the fish look at your lure and how they react.
