saginaw river update

January 3rd, 12:03pm. Just got back from the Saginaw river by ojibaway island. First the good news!! The water level has dropped! But, no ice to report, the river is still flowing fast. There are ice chunks out there. Maybe if the weather stays cold and no more storms we may be fishing it in a week in a half to two weeks. Just in time for the shiver to start!

I went over the Indy bridge yesterday being 1-2, at about 4 p.m. There was two shanties on the west side of the bridge, about 50 yds out from boat launch. Im sure they were fishing for perch but maybe not. There is still lil ice at both launches, but the water is still up and moving pretty well. Hopefully we won't get any rain tomorrow and it stays cold after and we may be fishing in a week or so.
