whats the word on higgens?

I know it ices late but im just curious as to what the conditions might be....If nothing else it wont hurt to have a post for updates.

I fished the south end of higgins yesterday.Around 4 inches of ice.One guy was out there on a quad. I'm not quite ready for that yet.Talked to a guy I know and he caught a 45 1/2 inch pike. It weighed 26 1/2 pounds

The whole lake is good for foot travel, Use your own judgement for vehicles.

I fished the south end today, 4-5 inches of rather soft ice. We had a snowmobile out there but use caution taking sleds or quads out as the ice thinned considerably beyond where we fished.

To say fishing was slow would be an understatement.

Swampbuck,the 26 lb pike was on a tip-up. It was the only flag he had in 3 hrs of fishing.I haven't talked to my friends that went out today yet.
