SO I got out with a late trip tonight and decided to make a scouting/hunting trip across the road from my rents house(never hunt there cept late doe) and see what I could see..While three buggers were laying down and eating the WW farmers got planted so i decided to stalk them..Well half hour later of crawling and rolling I was within shooting distance only to see it was a buck that lost its horns and a couple good size BB's..So then I notice the neighbor has a tree stand up in a little tree thats lets say is 10-12" diameter tree and 15 feet up so i decided to climb up and watch these guys when I notice 11 deer(does and fawns coming out in corner I will be set up on NYE or tomorrow if I get out) and start feeding also..

So now the fun...in the past 5 mins of climbin up and sitting the WIND decided to start HOWLING! I mean not some wussy blowing either:tdo12: So I decide I better sit down before I get blown out..so I start texting Hunterhawk about what the wind speed might be when all of a sudden a huge gust blows and my hat goes flyin:rant:..Im getting a little nervous now:eek: when all of a SUDDEN another GUST and I HEAR A SNAP AND A BRANCH(about half the size of the overall tree im sitten in) BREAKS just below me and goes flying about 15 yards out to into the Field :yikes::yikes::yikes:

well I text Hawk and said thats enough of that and I sat the rest of the night on ground..watch 15-20 deer including a nice 6 point come out and feed..So good scouting trip and I got the hat back after dark..

Tell me about it! I was in my climber with my bow in my rest, wind blows, bow starts to fall off, i was quick enough to reach for it before it goes to the ground! as the light was trailing during the end of the day, i reach to turn on my pin light. i noticed there is no pin light knob!! when the bow fell off it hit the climber frame and broke the light knob off!! GGGRRRRRR!!! It took me two months to find a replacement bulb casing and now it breaks off!! I will be going back with a metal detector to locate the casing, then i will be shooting my bow tonite to make sure its still on target.

Glad you didn't follow your hat!

I went out too and sat in a tent blind.... spent most of my time holding on to the sides so it didn't collapse or blow away and had to keep pulling the flaps back in... and they were weighted open! I kept asking myself what the heck am I doing out here? Never saw any deer.
