I very seldom fish Houghton lake and my opinion is about the same as you guys, but to be fair. I know several Houghton lake locals who consistently catch plenty of nice walleye, bluegill and crappie. Its really a matter of being in the right spot, and they are pretty small areas on a big lake.
Heading up tomorrow to Houghton Lake with the GF and her kids.. Her son is 11 and has HDAD, and is looking forward to ice fishing(few Christmas gifts were for ice fishing), just asking if anyone can give me a tip or two to get him on some fish. When he is able to land a fish every now and then, its the greatest thing to see the smile on his face, on the other hand when there are no fish, cant keep him interested any info would be awesome...
Thanks
Brian
