I am looking into buying a new fish finder for my boat. I have a 19ft rinker that is setup for lake michigan fishing. I have an older hummingbird on there now that i am not happy with. It doesnt pick up fish that well and doesnt read the bottom that well either. What do you guys look for in a fish finder? I am looking to spend around $200 for a new one. Any suggestions? I am kind of clueless when it comes to this. I dont need one with gps as i already have a nice gps on the boat. Speedwould be ok but if it doesnt have it its not the end of the world because i have the gps for speed. The biggest things are depth, ability to pick up fish and temp.
THanks,
Mike

At that price you don't have too many options but this one will get the job done for you and not brake the bank.

Its nice having at least 480 x 480 to pick up bait in deep water.

Humminbird have come along way. The new stuff is pretty neat. Garmin has some good price point stuff as well.
BUT..... no matter what you buy, it only will work as good as it's set up. I have seen $100 FF's set up the right way work better than $3000 FF set up wrong. Not only in the unit settings, but the transducer mounting. Even how its connected to the power source and cables are ran.
