Long Lake, Alpena.

My grandparents have a cottage on long lake, and i have never been up there in the winter at all .. and this year im making some plans to go there a couple times and do some ice fishing. Is there any reports that anyone knows of .. or any readers on this site that live in or nearby alpena that have heard something? Thanks for your time.

I haven't talked to anyone that''s been on Long Lake yet and I haven't either. You can check with Bucks. Lots of snow on the lake.

theres a bar up there on the lake and last year they had a pretty but pig roast and a live band playing on the ice .. from what the owner was telling me it was a blast, and they are doing it again this year on feb.7th ... so thats when im planing on going up there for sure! But in the mean time, after the new year comes around and i get a couple parts fixed on my truck .. im heading up. But if yall get a chance to get out there ... fill me in also..

WATCH THAT AREA THOUGH, THE LONG LAKE CREEK IS STILL RUNNING HEAVY, SO THERE IS CURRENT UNDER THAT ICE, AND IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE AREA VERY WELL, STAY OFF OF IT. BUT THE ICE ON LONG LAKE AND GRAND LAKE IS BEING CALLED SAFE BY ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS. SNOWMOBILES, QUADS, PERMANENT SHANTIES, ARE OUT IN FORCE.

OUR BIG NEWS IS STILL OUR UPCOMING ICE TOURNAMNENT, JANUARY 17, SATURDAY ONLY, 2009. WE HAVE TICKETS TO SELL FOR $12.00 EACH, AND ONLY 250 PRINTED.
