How many of you use something like a perch rig (multiple hook rig) for ice fishing? I realize that it may make the sonar use harder but I was thinking that it may be worth it.

chris started tying a fly up a few inches above his jig...catches fish on it too

ive always used multiple hooks on simcoe and started doing it here too...a little genz bug is perfect...works great on the vexilar too.

I have had great success lately at Simcoe with a perch spreader and in years past at Leamington!

We used to fish two ice jigs for perch in Lake St. Clair through the ice, and we used to get double headers. However, since the zebra mussels and clear water, we have to finesse with one jig and very light line to get fish now.

We used to fish 2 jigs on one line all the time. We'd put the upper jig 15-18" above the bottom hook. Most fish would be caught on the bottom, but the top hook really attracted their attention from a distance. These days I only fish one hook per line unless I'm fishing minnows.
