Just want to update everyone that there is in fact a trail system in the thumb.

The club was started in 2005 and "It is with great pleasure that we announce that at this years MSA Convention, which was held at Sand Lake Michigan on Saturday October 25th, the Thumbs Up Snowmobile Club was awarded the honor of being voted this years MSA club of the year!"

They have 2 groomers and about 50 miles of trails and adding more every year..Right now the thumb is packed with snow..Huron/Sanilac counties as far as I know are all approved to ride on the shoulder/right of way also(with a trail permit). Not sure exactly how trail is run since I just found the link today! Pretty sure there are no Rentals in the area though. Happy snowmobiling and merry christmas!

Heres the link to their site

Rode those trails last year, not bad for being close to home. One thing I will say, WATCH OUT FOR DEER AROUND SANDUSKY.Running up on 20 - 30 deer was the norm just east of sandusky. My buddy hit one and tore his rotator(sp?) cuff in his shoulder. He was off work for 2 months. Other than that the trails were good for being so close to home, I would like to explore them some more.
