Two firsts this morning. Went fishing for gills with a younger cousin and a friend of his and his friend caught a big golded shiner, never seen that. Not long after my cousin hooked a 14 inch carp and landed it. Took him for quite a ride on a bluegill rod. Never seen a carp caught while ice fishing...anyone else seen it?

I don't think I've ever heard of a carp throught he ice myself. I suppose they have to eat too, though.

I have seen a number of large carp through the ice. Getting them to bite.....rare indeed.
