There is 3-4" in Harrisville harbor. Another spot that I checked yesterday took two spud hits before going through. Be careful, all of this snow has things a little iffy for me!

Have you ever ice fished Alcona Park (campground) just outside Glennie.
I deer hunt in that area and was thinking about trying it. There used to be some big pike in their.

I would try N and S Hoist Lakes. South has Rainbows and North has gills and bass. The lake is located off M-65. Take you snowshoes because you need to walk in. There is also Jewell Lake outside of Barton City. I have good luck here with walleye, perch and gills. Then there is Vaughn Lake. This just outside of Glennie. This is a good gill lake and there is also perch and walleye. I would try these lakes before Alcona pond. Good luck!!!

I may hit the East Bay today. The wife is going to do some family stuff early so I thought that I could sneak out for a bit. OR hit our spot DMZ, someone has been out there, so I better give it a try.

well, ima be giving it a try tomorrow and sunday(saturday is the family x-mas party), on one of the area lakes, forgot all about vaughn, might give that a try, but i would definately like to give the pond a shot, been a few years since i've fished it through the ice, but i'm thinkin the same old spots should still produce(PM's welcome). i've fished hoist in the past as well with good success, along with a few other smaller area lakes that will remain nameless on the open board. good luck to everyone who gets out this weekend, be safe, and maybe i'll see ya out there.

ice is at about 8 inches as of last night. It got pretty warm last night after dark though and into this morning resulting in all the snow melting off!! but its super wet out there so id give it a couple days to freeze back up

p.s. only seen one snow machine out there

8" is good ice, at least in East Bay. With it getting colder over night and in the next few days, it should start getting thicker. Probably about Tuesday I'll head over and give it a try. Up until the last couple days, all I've been doing is moving snow, about like everyone else here. I am though, glad that all this snow is off the lake. A couple inches doesn't hurt and makes for better walking/standing or quad riding.
Thanks for the info...

Was wondering if anyone made it out on Hubbard after the warm spell and if all that wind was hurting the ice at all. Could use a good ice report. Thankyou

I ran over to East Bay yesterday, around 11:00 just to see what it looked like. Someone was spudding a hole over towards the creek and had a shanty with them. One guy looked like he was setting tip ups.
How much ice there is, I don't have a clue. It looked like the water that was on top, was freezing over. Seen a couple kids ice skating. By the weekend, it should start to lock up pretty good, at least closer to the shore areas.
Oh... if that guy left his shanty yesterday, its probably in a thousand pieces today, someplace in the marsh. Wow, did that wind come up and blow late yesterday and during the night!

I went over there too encore. I didnt think that there was any way the ice would be good enough. I was going to stop for a beverage at smokys and they were closed:sad: The area in front of Viking marine looked scary! Maybe this next cold snap will lock things up enough for this ice chicken.

I was out last night and this morning.... towards churchill point in about 15ft of H20. 6 hooked and 3 landed but all too damn small.

Not a thing this morning. ice is at about 8 or 9 inches, maybe more ATV's were out all weekend long

encore we should hook up sometime and try our luck against these pesky eyes in here

Fished it yesterday afternoon and the bite was slow until just before dark. Picked up 4 eyes and 2 jumbo perch on the north end. Perch were 14" and 14.5". :D All fish caught jigging except for one perch that took a tip up. There were lots of quads on the ice and the ice was about 6" and good hard ice. 45' to 50' depth.
