Can machines hit the ice safely now? Or is it still a couple of weeks down the road?

In certain areas you should be fine. Fair haven has a good 6-7" right now. Places like cotton/selfridge only have 4". Make sure you check on ice before you venture out!

we always go by what you feel safe on, ive been on ice under 5 with them but I also was moving fast. Whatever you feel safe with is the best though, dont just take an opinion use your own.

Holiday vacation and this little warm up gives me time to get the 4 wheeler ready. I need to put chains on, Mud-flaps aka slush-flaps and auguer/spud rack. Funny how I always wait till the last minute.

Sly:coolgleam You can make them pretty easy sly....rubber rooffing or a buddy made some from an old rubber back throw rug and black zip ties and hung from the back rack...G/L Mark

I guessed it would be simple for a simple mind like mine...(Watch it Joeker!!!)...I was wondering about the more durable material. I don't want it flooping in the breeze!! I was thinking about a full width mud flap like the stuff a truck flap is made of.
