Went out on Houghton lake this afternoon and tried the east state boat launch. Walked about 1/2 mile and thats about all I could do since there was over a foot of snow with some drifts that were higher. Ice was solid at about 10-12 inches. The fishing for me was not so great. Caught a handful of throw back perch but that was about it. If I didn't get such a late start this afternoon I may have been able to move around more. Tommorow I'm hitting Lake Missaukee. Its a lot smaller and I should be able to cover a lot more ground there.

Thanks for the report! Hopefully heading that way this weekend or next.
IYDM - What set up were you catching the perch on?

I was catching the perch on spikes and minnows on small jigs. They were coming through the hole constantly, unfortunately most were under 7 inches. Great to be out there though

Was out there yesterday to. Lots of 22 to 23 inch pike and saw one walleye on the Aqua Vu. Fished east of Lymans in 6ft and the weeds at 3ft. No keepers. Would have drilled more holes but that wind and cold was not conducive to tip up fishing. Drove our quads out. Ice was about 10" with about 3 being white.
