fished port austin in the river from 7 til 9. not a bite, seen two kings jump and that was it. Went to willow creek just to see how low the water was, it was very low and had skim ice on the creek.

lake still is warm, as could be seen by the lack of snow near the lakeshore. there is, as of writing, about two inches of snow in bad axe, but port austin has a dusting and near huron city, willow creek, they had nearly none.

we are starting to wonder if the steelhead will run this fall at port austin, we will give it a week, if there not in by then, we will be trying caveville alot more for perch.

Hang in there Jeremy. There are probably a few steelies in there. Maybe they're just finicky about what they want. It took the greater part of a day for me to pull some steelies out of Lexington. Patience it what it took for me.

we have tried everything. spawn, steelhead, king, and brown, minnows, mepps spinners, cleos, bombers, etc. i just don't think there is any steel in there at the monment. Were gonna try off the gas docks tomorrow hopefully, so its another day to try and hope.

One thing to note, it is a screwed up fall, so i guess i shouldn't lose all hope yet, but last year they were in by the 3 week of oct. I just hope they start before the ice gets on, not that i don't like ice fishing, its just the river doesn't freeze enough ever:( :(

Jeremy, I noticed that most fish were taken on waxworms more so than spawn or cleo's. Just an observation.;)
