Have they snow plowed the DNR launch in Lakeville yet? Last year it wasn't and it was a pain a couple of times.

Anyone fishing it yet?

They have plowed it in past years but I can't comment on this year because I haven't been by the launch yet. I would be surprised if they have been out there to plow it this year already though. I'm sort of heading out that way today so I will try to swing by it and see what the story is.

Thanks for the snow reports.

The lake is deep in spots, over 30'. Most of it seems to be around 10". I fished it for the first time last year and I only caught dink perch, dink rockbass, dink sunfish. They say there is pike in the lake. Water was always crystal clear. Hoping to get out there again this year just for the fun of it.

Hardly ever saw anyone fishing it, probably because of the above.

Just as surfdog said, the parking lot is not plowed. Not sure if it will be either since it's just a boat launch and not a state park. Maybe when I have gone in the past it was after the snow had melted, but I could have sworn it was plowed before.

Slim, the lake has pike, bass, panfish, crappie, carp and some walleyes. Where they hid in the winter is still a mystery to me. I have caught some fish out there, but never any sort of numbers. It can be a decent summer fishery as long as the jet skis and power boats aren't out there. Because of that I tend to fish it in early spring and late fall. Otherwise you're just going to be bombarded with the wakes from everyone else.

The boat launch is the small circle near the place marked with a box at the very bottom of the map. In the winter time I have tried the three holes that are closest to the launch. The line up on a 45 degree angle when you look at the map.

Good luck if you try the lake and let us know how you do.

Here is the State page in case you are interested in contour maps for other lakes in the area.

actually theres spots in that lake over 80feet if im not mistaken, and ive caught bass and pike outta there, most pike under 30 inches. supposedly the dnr has stocked eyes in there within the past few years but ive never caught any. i figured with the excellent water clarity it would be a great hard water spot but i could be wrong. ill venture out there once or twice this year annd post back as to what happens.
