Just returned from my first trip out on the hardwater. Caught a bunch of little perch in 4 foot of water, nothing over 6 inches. Fished from 9am till Noon in about 4 foot of water. Just a heads up if you plan on going to the DNR launch in Fairhaven their was someone in the booth checking for stickers.
The ice was about 3.5" with a lot of slush on top. Good luck and be safe.
