I am hoping someone will give me a hand here.
Anyone know of a lake near Pickney that has a couple walleye in it?
My gramps wants to catch a few, we have fished a few small lakes in the are and only seem to catch crappie andthe occasional pike.
Thanks for any info posted or PMed

There is a public launch on the south side of the lake. Might make for a long walk to where ever the fish bite though.

Does anyone have any tips for fishing this lake? Thanks.

The gates at the public launch (if that's what you want to call 8-10 parking spots) are normally closed in the winter.

Call Klave's Marina, maybe the can give you some ideas.

I agree, that launch ain't very big but I got a buddy who owns a place near the end of Winston Dr. on the north end that I can park at. Trouble is, I have no idea where to go on the lake. I spend a lot of time out there in the summer but never really see anyone catching fish nor do I hear that there is good fishing although as tore up as that lake gets, summer probably ain't the best time to fish it.

I live on Big Portage. The southern half of the lake has 3 sunken islands. The water goes from 20-40 to 4 ft. There are many walleyes that hang on the edges. Just wait for the ice to firm up, and you'll see plenty of people (and shanty's) out there catching them. BE CAREFUL....there is a major current system in this lake, and it can be very dangerous even when you know what you're doing out here. Ice can open up out of no where, so ask at the local bait shop, the owner will help you out.

Walk slowly and carry a big spud early season. There are areas in the southern half that are 50 ft plus.

Its on the same road as klaves marina down 1/2 mile opposite side of the road.. Called the golden drake fishing shop. Its split half fishing shop , half hardware. The guy is very knowledgeable , just ask portagelaker. A party store next to that for all of your provisions and a sandwich place opposite ( riverside) of that for vittles. The name of the road alludes me ---sorry
