Who is running a Humminbird Ice 55 and gimmie some feedback to its' performance and such, good and bad. I'm looking at pulling the trigger on one of these units this weekend and would like to know what I may be getting myself into.....besides debt!

Can't help too much, but I bought the ICE45 a couple weeks ago and love it so far. Nice big, detailed display, like the dual beam transducer and zoom, snow slides off the screeen..... Anxious to see it in bigger water (come on ice). After several years with the FL-8, which I couldn't fish without, it was a bit wierd to see my spike fall off the hook a couple inches off the bottom 20 ft down. Personally, I couldn't see the extra $100 for the 3 more colors and the depth marker to go with the 55. The extra power may be handy - depending on your fishing. It isn't my fishing, so that is your decision, but functionally, I think it will be sweet - time will tell........:)

Our history. From humble roots to Humminbird worldwide.

Techsonic Industries, Inc. began in Eufaula, Alabama in 1971 as Fulton Electronics in a small garage-like facility financed by a handful of local investors. Operations began by modifying Heath Kits to produce electronic fish-finding devices – marketed as the first Humminbird Depth Sounders.

Please note their corporate location and choose wisely, as 30 Chrysler plants have shut down for a month, with the help of Alabama's senator.

I saw a demo unit at BPS. Liked what I saw. Would love to try it out on the ice instead of the shelf.
