Big School Lot Lake in Oakland County...

Has anyone ever fished there? A freind of mine lives out there but doesn't know the lake. Any ideas? or where I can get a contour map? I looked on line, but couldn't find a thing.

I've never heard of it either, can you be more specific about where it's located. Point me to where it is and I will look it up on mapquest and then dig into my contour maps to see if I have it.

Edit, ok I found the lake. Now I'll see if I can find a contour map, but I kind of doubt it since it appears to be a private lake.

Sorry, I can't help you. I checked the State web page, my lake map cds and my lake map books. It's not listed in any of them, I am sure that's because it's a private lake.

From what our mutual friend told me, the boat launch on the lake is private as the people on the road own and maintain it. But I was told the opposite side of the the lake is all state land but is quite a walk from the nearest parking area.

The land next to the lake is part of the Hunter Access Program. If I am remembering correctly, I was hunting it last year and I was talking to another hunter who said he had fished that lake and he said there were some good holes. But he could have also been talking about Buckhorn Lake, which is right next door.

I used to fish buckhorn a lot from the docks when I was a kid and we had some family friends that still lived on it. From what I remember the fishing was terrible, has it changed in the past 15 years.
