Next year I am planning on taking a deer hunting trip up into Canada. The area I intend to go to is accessable only by boat; only I do not have one. I was wondering if anyone could clue me in on a business that rents boats that meets my needs. I'm looking for:

16 - 20 foot (18 preferred) aluminum boat,

something light weight that is open on the inside (for moving gear),

15 - 30 hp,

has a trailer,

i would need for approx. 1 1/2 weeks,

would take out of country (obliously).

I greatly appreciate any help.

Maybe your contacts in Canada could help you. Then you would not have to tow it so far.:)

We thought about it, but a couple thoughts kept comming to mind:

What if we drive the 18 hours to get there and they no longer have one available. I know we could put a deposit down to hold one, but you know what they say "__it happens"!

Also, what if we got there and the boat was not up to the challenge that we have in mind for it. Leaky boat, too small of a motor, motor doesn't run well, etc, etc.

This trip is a big trip to us and I need to kow when I leave MI that I have a boat capable of hauling in all our equipment and us safely. This place we will be going to is not the place to have problems.

I thought about this too, just wasn't sure how well that would be received. If I had a boat, motor and trailor I'd be a little sceptic about allowing a stranger to rent it. However, since you suggested it, maybe I'm over thinking this one. As the time gets a little closer I might just do that!

Thanks!
