I agree with you Captain I have lived on Simcoe my hole life and I think I might have fished for perch in the Gilford area once. If you want the big fish you have to fish where everyone else isn't :lol::lol:,that is my secret.

Those pictures just made the itch get worse. This will be my first time fishing simcoe but were not going till the middle or the end of feb. so i have awhile yet. I have been ready to go since we planned the trip. Hopefully we can get into some slab perch like the ones in the pictures.

The bigger the perch, the mushier the flesh and "less better tasting" they are. I won't say "worse" because even a mushy, big old Simcoe perch is a decent one.
