felt good to get out and fish

i hit a little local lake Sat night and was catching bluegill at night.:confused: i caught only 3 nice crappie but could of limit out on 7-8 inch gills. the ice was 3" and i didn't go out as far as i wanted but there was a ton of fish.i only fished a little less then 2 hours and the action was great. cant wait for the weekend. hopefully the ice will survive. ;)

Feels greeat to get out. Now if only mother nature would work with us. And gills at night :confused: Maybe they thought they were crappie?

i'm going try again this weekend (fri or sat nite) and i will bring the camera this time.;) hopefully i will have more ice.

I often catch gills at night. Heard from someone a while ago that different individual fish are more active at day or at night. Sorta like day people and night people.

What is your method for ice fishing gills at night? I have never had much luck during any season getting on the gills at night and would love some advice from anyone on the how to. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.i was catching them on wax worms and glow jig.letting them chase my jig a little and then they would strike. i was in 10 fow.
