I love barbeque chicken and so does the wife and she asked if I would cook some. I had to shovel 3 feet of snow out of my fire pit, but is was worth it.
I cooked it over an open oak fire. It took over an hour for the fire to burn down to coals. I cook it slow and use "Open Pit". My wife likes another type with honey and is more smokey.
As the snow melted, I thought it would get high enough to put the fire out, but the ground thawed out first an the water drained. After an hour and a half this is what it looked like.
I had to shovel a walk way around the fire pit to keep away from the smoke.

I also like potatoes thrown directly into the fire, no foil. Here is a close-up.

It tasted great.
