Could not make up my mind Goose hunt or deer hunt. Looks like I made the right choice. Me and my son Tyler sat the blind up over looking a thicket around 3pm, it was getting to be around 4:30 and I told Tyler we realy need to start looking because it was getting to be that time. A couple min's late I looked acrossed the little ridge and noticed a shape that was not there a few mins early and then it moved. I told Tyler it was a buck. He looked through the bino's and said it was a 4pt. I hit the doe bleat and he stopped and I put the cross hairs behind the shoulder @ 70 yrd and pulled the trigger and all we seen was smoke then we seen a tail and then nothing. A few min's passed and I told Tyler let go see if there was a blood trail. Got to where he was standing and it looked like someone dumped a pail of red paint. So we walked slow and looking a head. We found our buck. 6pt's only went 40 yrds. Knight .50 245gr Hornady's complete pass through, heart shot. Looks to still be rutting, swelled neck.
1st muzzleloader deer.
